Forgetting, the Strategy of Knowledge Management in Modern Organizations

چکیده مقاله

Organizational Forgetting intentional and unintentional loss of organizational knowledge at any level will facilitate a change in organization’s structure and beliefs in order to gain a competitive advantage. This study not only considers the implications of knowledge management and the process of organizational learning as well as emphasizing on organization forgetting as a organizational competitive advantage, but also investigates the impact of organizational learning on organizational forgetting. Study sample was consisted of 35 employees of middle managers of several government departments. The research method is descriptive – explorative that has been performed by Semi-structured interviews. To answer the research questions , Pearson correlation test has been used. The results showed that the dimensions of organizational learning systems (leadership, management structure, corporate culture, strategy) have significant and positive impact on organizational forgetting. Furthermore, by examining the relationship between demographic variables, a significant relationship between the level of expertise and moving employees with the loss of institutional knowledge was determined.
