Predicting Equipment Failure by Means of Statistical Analysis and Equipment Reliability

In operating time for every equipment either electrical or mechanical, we can give distribution function that is mainly one of three distributions i.e. exponential, normal and Weibull in terms of spent time. We can decide by means of equipment reliability and probability of failure for equipment repair time. The diagnosis can be accessible by means of statistical methods and forecasting based on the reliability. In this study, we calculate distribution function of given device by use of Minitab 16 software while collecting failure time of a dust collector (dust collection device) of Iranian Ghadir Iron and Steel Company. It is observed that it conforms to Weibull distribution function; then parameters of mentioned distribution function is calculated. Finally, the next failure time of given device is estimated with 95 % level of reliability. When it is compared with reality, it is clear that it is relatively good estimation.
