Dynamic Stability Enhancement in a Multi-Machine Power System Using UPFC Based on New Simulation Method and Adaptive Input-Output Feedback Linearization Control

In this paper, according to the new simulation method, improvement of dynamic stability in a multi-machine power system using UPFC based on adaptive input-output linearization controller is evaluated. Ignoring the sub-transient states of the synchronous machines, a symmetrical three phase fault is occurred. According to full order model of the synchronous machines, the stability of adaptive input-output feedback linearization is determined based on lyapunov theory. Based on new simulation method the first machine is considered as reference and only mechanical equations of this machine is participated in simulation process. In addition, the terminal voltage of the first machine is considered constant and does not change. Also the current of this machine is updated based on corresponding equation in each simulation step and unlike other machines it is not decomposed to the d _ q components. Finally, some simulation results to verify the control and new simulation methods are presented.
