چکیده مقاله
Adelaide Desalination Plant which was known as Port Stanvac Desalination Plant is a reverse osmosis desalination plant located in Lonsdale, South Australia which has the capacity to provide 50 per cent of the Adelaide needed drinking water. The plant was initially planned to have a capacity of 50 gigalitres per year, but then it was decided to double the capacity and it was increased to 100 gigalitres of water per year. All the needed power for the plant is provided by using renewable energy sources such as PV panels and Hydro turbines. In this article we have compared costs and financial analysis of the same imaginary desalination plant which its electricity is provided by constructing a gas cycle power plant which consumes Gas for producing energy to find out which one is more economical. In the introduction we will define ADP and its characteristics. Because all the calculations are done in DEEP® software there is no specific equation in this paper. In results and discussion section you will find the results of DEEP® calculations and the comparison between the imaginary plant and ADP. At last, you will find conclusion section which includes the reason of choosing renewable energy sources for ADP in spite of its expensive costs compared to our imaginary power plant.
