Study of physiological and quality characteristics of new varieties of wheat under artificial aging

چکیده مقاله

Wheat plays an important role in political and economic areas, especially in developing countries and in all around the world considered as a strategic product. The economic importance of wheat whether feeding, or production is more than other agricultural products in the world. The research on various aspects of this product get essential. Seed deterioration is a negative trait in agricultural and making reduce grain production income, 25 percent of the crop is harvested. To evaluate the effect of seed aging on physiological characteristics and quality of wheat, an experiment in a completely randomized design in a factorial on four cultivars Alvand, Pishgam, Orum and Zarea in four replications was done. To Treatment for aging, seeds  were put at 41 ° C and high humidity for 0, 7, 14 and 21 days. The results show that by increasing the level of deterioration of the physiological characteristics include the percentage and rate of germination and vigor decreased in all varieties. Also by increasing levels of decline the number of abnormal seedlings increased. Qualitative characteristics show that with increasing levels of deterioration, protein and starch reduced and sugar increased in all varieties. Alvand has better physiological characteristics in stress condition, but for quality parameters such as protein Pishgam and Orum were superior. All cultivars have shown  almost identical reaction to the decline in total. Adverse effects of the seed declining in 21days treatment is more.
