The role of Supply chain orientation and organizational buying effectiveness: A study in medium and large enterprises of Isfahan province in Iran

The Buying plays a strategic role in the value chain system and hence influences the means of value creation for the customer. Supply chain orientation also clarifies the role of its suppliers and customers by applying supply chain orientation. Supply chain orientation as well enables enterprises to leverage the value creation potential from upstream processes (i.e. shopping). Therefore, a company which employs supply chain orientation recognizes the role of its buying process as a process of value creation for the customer. To this end, the objective of this study is to examine supply chain orientation, the effectiveness of organization buying in cases in medium and large enterprises in Isfahan province. To examine supply chain orientation, Mean and Mentzer model (2004) and to evaluate the effectiveness the previous literature were used. PLS application along with the structural equation model was used considering the low volume of the sample (80 firms). Results confirm that there is a positive and meaningful relationship between supply chain orientation and organizational buying effectiveness. (β = 0.4 and p<0.001)
