Studying the effect of vehicle speed on concrete pavement with finite element modeling (FEM)

چکیده مقاله

In many countries, an efficient road transport system has been known as one of the prerequisites for economic development and significant financial and human resources are allocated to build and upgrade roads. Rigid pavements tolerate different types of damage such as longitudinal and transverse cracks, cracks in the joint resulting from dynamic traffic load and thermal stress. Understanding rigid pavement response under axial load is important in designing new pavement and implementation of measures to repair and modify existing pavement. Given that concrete pavements are long life pavements and have many applications in important pavements such as ports and airports and so on, studying the behavior of these pavements and failure mechanisms in them greatly helps increase the life of the pavement and prevent their failure that economically will have great impact. We hope that by increasing research and offering solutions in the construction and maintenance of these pavements, using these pavements increases in Iran. In this article, JPCCP slab response is studied under the axial loads. For three-dimensional modeling of concrete pavement finite element software ABAQUS CAE V.12 is used which is of the most powerful software used in three-dimensional modeling.
