A study on occupational stress and its effect on human errors in air traffic control tower (case study)

This study was conducted with the goal of pathology of the factor “occupational stress” and its relationship with the factor “human errors” in the air traffic control tower, which has been carried out as case study in Tabriz International Airport. The research method is descriptive and of the type of content analysis. The population in this study is comprised of all the flight control towerstaff of Tabriz Airport and due to their limited number, the questionnaire has been distributed among all the staff. The research theoretical framework has been carried out by means of the combined theory of the experts in this field. The data collection isconducted in the two library and field methods. The validity of the questionnaireis calculated as face validity and its reliabilities calculated by means of Cronbach’s alpha coefficient. The normality of the data has been calculated based on the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and in order to investigate the relationship between the variables, Pearson correlation coefficient has been used.
The results of the studies show that there is a positive and significant relationship between the factor of occupational stress, and the factor of human errors in the air traffic control tower.
