The Effect of late season Drought Stress on Grain Yield and Yield Components of wheat (triticum aestivum) and selecting the best drought resistance indexes

to study the effect of drought stress in final stages of growing season on yield components and physiology characters of five different wheat cultivars and to select the best indexes of drought stress resistance, an experiment was performed in the city of Mashhad in Khorasan e Razavi province in 2015-2016. The test was plotted in CRD design with three repeats. Base on the results, between Cutting the two last irrigation treatments and other two treatments there was a significant difference between adjectives such as grain yield, relative water capacity, hectoliter weight and grain protein percentage. Results from the correlation coefficients table showed that GMP and STI indexes individually had the highest correlation with yield during the stress time. Results of mean comparison of these indexes showed that cultivars Pishtaz and Pishgam in compare with other cultivars are more resistant against late season drought stress. ANOVA results showed that highest yield was obtained from Pishtaz and lowest yield was for Gaspard under stress condition. Resistant genotypes were containing more RWC1 and less yield decrease during stress. Study the trend of changes of canopy temperature in irrigation cut off treatments indicated that over time passes from beginning of treatment, TC increased because of decreasing in amount of available water source
