The Strong Breed wrote in 1962. It is a play by Wole Soyinka. In this play, Soyinka depicts the tale of African tribes who their beliefs control their life. The play illustrates the ritual and superstitious beliefs of one of the African villages (Yoruba). The people who lived there believed before arriving at each New Year one strong and strange person should scarify for purifying the society. The present study tries to find how the person who kills for their beliefs finds his/ her true individuality in this kind of the society; that is why this study focuses on The Individuality one of the theories by George Simmel in order to seek how the idea of Simmel (which he believes each person finds his/ her true individuality in the heart of the society) has traces in this play.
