Identification of Risk Factors in IT Outsourcing in Banks by using DEMATEL Fuzzy Method

Today, outsourcing has grown relative to the past and increased the flexibility and organizational dynamics, and has many potential benefits: money saving, productivity improvement, increased flexibility, and etc. However, IT outsourcing also has risks that may lead to undesirable consequences, such as expensive contract amendment, evading and opportunism, disclosure of trade secrets and fraud. So knowledge of the risks of IT outsourcing and the importance of each of them can support managers to reduce and control these risks. This article reviews research conducted in the field of IT outsourcing risk identification, 33 risk indicators in various areas related to outsourcing IT to identify them and provide it to five respondents (Directors of Technology and Information of one the private banks of Iran) as a result of it, 18 risk indices of the effectiveness of choice were clustered. Existing cluster include a variety of risks such as telecommunications, financial, technical and strategic techniques, which with the help of DEMATEL fuzzy technique identify causal relationships (cause and effect) between the four clusters and finally between four main clusters provide a network structure.
