Impact of pavement maintenance period in the amount of pavement performance

چکیده مقاله

Factors effective in the amount of created loss in a pavement serviceability are included of: Axle load, Climate and other factors such as technical defects in the technical ability of human resources, defects in technical specifications of pavement materials and equipment, defects in planning and allocating sufficient budget and even defects in maintenance and operation of the road that cause pavement deterioration. In terms of what time of the road operation and maintenance period, they must deal with the triple factors and therefore these factors act as synergistic or non-synergistic, regime of serviceability loss will be different. In this paper by a theoretical simulation of performance curve of a pavement  with a final and present serviceability index identified at three different times of attempt to repair and maintenance it with the help of three performance curves that have a different regime of serviceability loss and their performance index calculation and comparing  them with each other, it is determined that the more closer is the period of  pavement maintenance to beginning of pavement age, the more pavement performance index and the more closer is the period to the end of pavement age, the pavement performance index will be lower. Also pavement performance index has alinear relationship with pavement age and will be stronger by increasing age of pavement, absolute difference between the triple different performance indexes  in three different periodof pavement maintenance.
