INVESTIGATING MOTIVATIONAL FACTORS IMPACT ON STAFF PERFORMANCE 		(CASE STUDY; TEHRAN STOCK EXCHANGE)

چکیده مقاله

ABSTRACT

This paper investigates internal and external motivational factors on staff performance of Tehran stock exchange. Based on the most recent contemporary classification of motivation theory that was proposed by Raymond Kentez and Dona Thompson motivational theories are classified into two major categories of internal and external theories. The method which is used was statistical survey that the most important tool for data gathering is questionnaire which was filled by Tehran stock exchange staff. The sampling method was stratified sampling and based on this method the staff are categorized into 3 categories of higher class, intermediate class and lower class then each class samples was selected by deploying simple random sampling. After data gathering by questionnaire the data bank was comprised by SPSS software and by utilizing an appropriate statistical tests this data was analyzed. Findings shows there is a significant correlation between all internal motivational variables and staff performance of lower, intermediate, higher class. On the other hand, the results also show there is a significant relationship between two internal motivational variables (financial motivation, desired accommodations and conditions) and lower and intermediate staff performance however it doesn’t have any significant impact on higher class staff performance. According to, the importance of motivation identification in increasing human resource productivity and performance, two factors of improving wage and benefits (external motivation) and creating appropriate condition for staff achievement and competence (external motivation) are prioritized.
