Apply the single-Cell Gel Electrophoresis for Determining Blood Cells DNA damage by Malathion Pesticide in Rutilus rutilus Caspicus

چکیده مقاله

Malathion is an insecticide from organophosphate groups widely used in the world in agricultural industry. In addition to its widespread use, due to less toxicity than other organophosphate pesticides, little information is available on fish DNA damage. In this research, the effects of malathion on Caspian roach blood cell DNA were studied using neutral comet technique. During the study, four treatments with three replicates were used. After determining the LC50 of malathion toxin (6.57), fish were exposed to three sub-lethal doses of malathion (0.1, 0.05, and 0.01 PPM) for 23 days. The treatment control had no toxin. Sampling was done on days 3, 13, and 23 of exposure and 30 days after cessation of various treatments, and DNA damage on blood cells was examined. The highest levels of DNA damage was observed at the highest concentration and with longer period of time than other groups and the control group. And it was significantly different from the control group the other groups, P<0/05. Also after stopping the pesticide application, blood cell DNA samples, exposed to low toxicity, were recovered more and better in a shorter time than other groups.
