This review focuses on the recent development of novel isocyanide-based one-pot multicomponent reactions involving CH-, NH-, OH and SH-acid compounds and electrophiles. In spite of important role in the synthetic organic chemistry, the Ugi four-component reactions, Passerini three-component condensation reactions and their combinations with other transformations have also been intentionally excluded here, since these topics have been exhaustively reviewed several times. In this article, we attempted to avoid the overlapping with the previous reviews, but the minimum fundamental aspects are given to provide a sound overview about the present subject.
Modern synthetic design demands high efficiency in terms of minimization of synthetic steps together with maximization of complexity. (Anary-Abbasinejad, et al, 2007) One of the ways to fulfill these goals is the development and use of multi-component reactions which consist of several simultaneous bond-forming reactions and allow the highly efficient synthesis of complex molecules starting from simple substrates in a one-pot manner. In recent years, isocyanide-based multicomponent condensation reactions (IMCRs) by virtue of their synthetic potential, their inherent atom efficiency, convergent nature, ease of implementation, and the generation of molecular diversity, have attracted much attention because of the advantages that they offer to the field of combinatorial chemistry. The fact that complex products can be formed in a single operation by simultaneous reactions of several reagents has caused IMCRs to be among the most powerful methods for the synthesis of organic molecules. In this article has been attempted to gather information how synthesis novel compounds and Multi-component reaction without using catalyst with efficient synthesis and high final products.
