The effect of body mass index and abdominal fat, on high blood pressure :A cross-sectional study of a random sample of men and women aged20-65 years. in sabzevar ,Iran .2016 (population-based study).

The prevalence of high blood pressure, abdominal fat and BMI was calculated. Methods: The present research is an analytical-descriptive inquiry. Sabzevar city is located in eastern part of Iran. It is one of the many cities of Khorasan province. It has a population of about 256648.The target population included a group of individuals having 20 to 65 years old. Phased clustering was the method of sampling of the subjects. They were randomly studied.1500 individuals of the city population (750 men and 750 women) participated in the project. Results: The results of this study suggest that high levels of BMI and abdominal obesity in people is directly associated with an increased risk of high blood pressure. The area behind the peritoneal fat and the incidence of high blood pressure also show that abdominal fat had a positive effect on blood pressure disease. Therefore, it is recommended diet with physical activity and a healthy lifestyle and the risk of obesity (especially abdominal obesity) and subsequently prevent the risk of high blood pressure is also reduced.
