Comparison between Personality Traits and Mental Health among the Married and Divorced Women in the city of Zahedan

Due to the increasing rate of divorce and its consequences on society, it is important to examine divorce in aspects of society. The aim of this study is to compare personality traits with mental health among divorced and married women in the city of Zahedan. The statistical universe of this research is consisted of all divorced women who have referred to the court in Zahedan city, and also married women residing in there. For this purpose, 100 divorced women by availability sampling method, and 100 married women by the cluster sampling method were chosen. The research instrument included Goldberg’s general health questionnaire and personality questionnaire. The research data has been done using stepwise regression statistical method and by the help of spss21 software. The results showed that there is a significant relationship between personality traits and mental health of married and divorced women. By educating women on the verge of divorce, it is possible to promote their mental health and personality traits in order to reduce divorce, and thereby reduce personal and social damage of such women.
