Evaluating the impact of role ambiguity and role conflict on job control and team work among the workers in copper industry

چکیده مقاله

Job stress is defined as the harmful physical and emotional responses that occur when job requirements do not match the capabilities resources and needs. This factor can negatively influence worker’s mental and physical health and also decrease organizations productivity and success. Thus present study investigated the impact of role ambiguity and conflict on job control and team working in workers of Shahid Bahonar complex in 1395. This is descriptive (cross-sectional) research. The sampling population of this researchincludes 142 workers that were selected with census. Severity of role ambiguity and conflict and itsimpact on job control and teamwork determined with NIOSH general job stress questionnaire consisting of 11 items that validated by content validity. Its reliability was measured by internal consistency (α=7/0). Data was analyzed by Pearson coefficient correlation and linear regression. The results showed that role conflict has a direct relation with age, but the role ambiguity has an indirect relation with age. There were Significant negative relationship between severity of role ambiguity and job control. The job satisfaction and general health decrease, self-satisfaction and physical environment aggravation when the role ambiguity and conflict increased. With regard to recent studies and compare with the current study` results, increased role ambiguity and conflict can weaken decision making and teamwork ability among workers. So it is necessary for organizational managers to apply some protective strategy for prevention for role affects in employees during work.
