چکیده مقاله
Well logs can be used to evaluate rock physical properties such as porosity, permeability and fluid (water or oil) saturation which play an important role in production from hydrocarbon reservoirs. The aim of this study is to evaluate porosity of Asmari Formation in wells No. 1, 2, 4, 6 and 12 by utilizing caliper, gamma, density and neutron logs in one of south western oilfields of Iran. Main stages of this study are: log correlation, revision, reconstruction and interpretation. Density logs missing in wells No. 1 & 2 were estimated by sonic logs. Comparing porosity determined from density and neutron logs indicates that this formation contains water or oil. The porosity value calculated from neutron log is maximum in upper section (836.45 m to 871.9 m) of well No.6 (about 18.4%) and minimum value (9.8%) occurs between 906.8 m to 932 m in well No.4, in other wells porosity varies between these values. Calculated shale volume also indicates that shale is present in all of wells, especially in wells No.1 & 4, thus its effect was applied in results. Moreover, water saturation in all of wells is low which implies high oil saturation.
