Comparative efficacy of Rose Bengal plate test, Standard tube agglutination test, Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay and Dot- Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay in serologic detection of antibodies to Brucella in sera of free rang chickens

Abstract: In the present study 197 serum samples obtained from free rang chicken were evaluated for anti Brucella antibodies, using four serological tests, those are Rose Bengal plate agglutination test(RBPT), Standard tube agglutination test(STAT), Enzyme linked immune sorbent assay (ELISA) ,and Dot-ELISA.ELISA and Dot-ELISA being designed and standardized at home using extracted Brucella lipoplysacharide as antigen. From 197 serum samples being tested, 19 samples (9.6%) showed positive reaction in RBPT, 18(9.1%) 0f the samples were positive by STAT, 34 (20%) of the samples were positive by ELISA, and 43 (22%) were positive by Dot-ELISA test,. No significant difference was observed among the results obtained by RBPT and STAT. Also the results obtained by ELISA and Dot-ELISA did not show significant differences
