Assessing Health and Ergonomic Risks in Cabinet Making Workshop By using REBA assessment tool

Variety in wood arts, has made it an entrepreneur and profitable field at the country, therefor several wood workshops has been established in recent years. Many of these workshops are launched without proper attention to health and safety issues, so the risk of work related disorders for the craftsmen of these workstations would not be unexpected in the future. Obviously, improving the health and safety issues in these workplaces can lead to the development and sustainability of this activity. In this study the hygiene and ergonomic requirements of a cabinet making workshop has been extracted and common physical situations and postures has been assessed by using Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) and the results showed that many of these situations need an urgent or near future reform. Finally, some strategies has been proposed to improve health conditions and reduce the risk of occupational disorders in these workshops.
